This document provides information about Word Junction, which teaches etymology, the study of word origins and histories. It uses Greek and Latin roots, prefixes, and suffixes to help students build vocabulary. Each week students will memorize word stems, define vocabulary words using the stems, create new word definitions, and submit their work on Edmodo with pictures and sentences using the words. Lesson 1 focuses on the stems "alter", "fort", "man", "pro", and "xylo" and provides example words and definitions for each.
